Company profile
The singleton company profile, why it exists, and how it is versioned onto runs.
The company profile is a short description of your own organisation: who you are, what you do, and what problems you solve. It exists to give the agent seller-side context when evaluating prospect fit.
Why it matters
When the agent reads public information about a prospect and asks "does this company need what we sell?", it needs to understand what "we sell" means at a deeper level than the offering description alone. The company profile provides that background, covering your company's positioning, differentiators, and ideal customer profile.
Editing the company profile
Go to Settings > Company profile. You can draft a new version at any time. The editing surface supports rich text and includes a preview.
When you are happy with the draft, publish it. Only published versions are used by research runs.
Versioning
The company profile is versioned. When a research run starts, the current published version is snapshotted onto the run. This means:
- Changing your company profile mid-run does not affect that run.
- Two runs started at different times may use different company profile versions if you published an update in between. You can see which version each run used on the run detail page.
What to put in the profile
A good company profile covers:
- What your company does in plain language (not marketing speak).
- The industries or company types you serve best.
- The problems you solve and the outcomes your customers achieve.
- What makes you different from alternatives the prospect might consider.
Aim for 150-300 words. Too short and the agent lacks context; too long and it dilutes the signal.
